CONSUMER HAD RECALL 93V163 COMPLETED, 2 OF THE BOLTS ON THE DRIVER’S SIDE SNAPPED WHILE BRAKING ALSO CAUSING THE SEAT BACK FRAME TO CRACK IN THE WELDS, THE CONSUMER TOOK THIS TO THE DEALER WHO COMPLETED THE WORK FOR THE BOLTS BUT THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAY FOR THE PARTS, THE CONSUMER HAD THE SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACED ON HIS OWN, JUST RECENTLY WHILE BRAKING,THE BOLTS BROKE ON THE PASSENGER’S SIDE, CAUSING THE BACK FRAME TO BEND AND SEPARATE AT THE WELD JOINTS, GM STATED THAT BECAUSE THE SEAT RECLINED FORWARD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING OR REPAIRING THE SEAT BOLTS, THE CONSUMER ARGUED THAT WHILE BRAKING THE SEAT WOULD RECLINE FORWARD, BUT THE DEALER STILL REFUSED ANY KIND OF REPAIR. *SLC Date Reported:Nov 01, 1996.
